Love Me Beauty November Box

Guess what? I'm back!!

Sorry it's been so long... it became a crazy hectic year with moving house, getting married, getting promoted - Team Leader at one of those massive supermarket chains and then spending all my free time testing out new beauty products and raiding the rails of any shop that sells clothes.

So what better way to restart this blog than by doing a review of this months awesome (as usual) LoveMeBeauty box (sign up at http://lovemebeauty.com/join/166692)

For those that don't know LoveMeBeauty (it used to be known as BeautEco as it aims to become a truely sustainable business - good for me and good for the environment) is a subscription beauty box - think something along the lines of Glossybox or Birchbox. The cool thing about LoveMeBeauty is that you get to pick your own box from a selection of three "menus" - this makes sure you only get products that you actually want to try. The thing that really sets LoveMeBeauty out from the other subscription boxes out there is you actually get a mix of full sized and sample sized products!! Honestly? This is my third box and there's never been a product I haven't liked!! Boxes cost only £10 + P&P each month & the contents of the boxes are always worth more than you pay - bonus!!

Here is what's in my box this month - I can't remember what menu I chose out of the three options but I remember being swayed by the colour of the ArtDeco lip gloss. Usually it also comes with a cool wee menu that describes the bits & pieces you've received but mine seems to have been left out this month. That's more than made up for by the fact that I got two extra samples this month - possibly my reward for being a three month subscriber - Thanks!!!

Firstly here is the full sized Model's Own Nail Polish in Hot Pink (RRP £5). You can never go wrong with a Models Own nail polish. I love them and this hot pink is no exception. I'm not allowed to wear nail colour at work but I will do a review of it on my toenails just to show off how lovely it is.

Next we have a generous sample from French skincare brand, Absolution and their "Le Soin Purifiant" (RRP £24 for 50ml). This is a face mask from a brand I have heard lots of good reports about but something I have never tried myself yet. That's the brilliant thing about sample boxes, you get to try out pricier products and little-known brands. Le Soin Purifant is a face mask which promises to absorb purities, tighten pores and smooth skin. I will give it a go tomorrow and let you all know what I think...

Here we have a full sized Jelly Pong Pong 2-in-1 Eyeliner and Shadow (RRP £10.50) in a nice bronze/brown shade. It was advertised on the Love Me Beauty website as being black, which would have been nice as well however I much prefer a nice bronze colour as I think it brings out the blue of my eyes and is much less harsh than black on my fair skin. Jelly Pong Pong are a company I know very little about if I'm honest however when I tested this crayon it glided onto my skin easily and blended to create an easy smoky eye effect. If it lasts the night at work I'll be hooked!!

This is one of the most exciting products in the box, a (once again) generously sized sample of Mitchell and Peach Shower Wash. With an RRP of £20 for 250ml of this product, it's not something I would have ever paid full price for. As well as being used as a shower wash it can be added to a hot bath. Its full of essential oils and other lovely goodies and once I try it out Ill be sure to let you all know what I think!!

Next up we have the full sized ArtDeco Hydra Lip Booster Lip Gloss in Translucent Rosewood (RRP £11.50). As I said before, the shade of this lipgloss was the reason I chose this box. It's a super wearable pale pink colour (Not the harsh dark brown pink in the picture). It smooths on easily, and gives a lovely subtle finish. I can see me wearing this all the time! It even claims to even out wrinkles - what a bonus!! I absolutely love it!

Bonus Sample - Lord & Berry Lipstick in Intensity (RRP £12). This isn't shown well in the top picture because it was hidden under all the tissue paper. I didn't realise it was in there until I completely emptied the box and went to tidy it all up!! I nearly lost this great little lippie! I am a massive fan of Lord & Berry cosmetics. I love everything about them, the colours, the packaging, the way they feel on my skin and this super flattering lipstick is no exception. It looks awesome with a slick of the ArtDeco lip gloss on top.

Finally we have a small sample of The Green Balm which claims to do, well pretty much everything. (See more information at thegreenbalm.com) I'm actually pretty chuffed I received this today as I'm full of the cold and my nose is suffering pretty badly and this super moisturising balm was just the perfect thing to help soothe my Rudolf nose!! I'm really impressed with this teeny wee pot and think I'll just have to purchase a bigger pot - it'll be great for my stepsons sore skin as well. Perfect!!

Wow, so all in all an absolutely outstanding sample box once again from Love Me Beauty... I can't wait for next months!!!

New Boots... Sort Of...

I was hoping with this post I would be able to show off my lovely new Jeffery Cambell inspired boots from tribecashoes.co.uk.

(Image from the tribecashoes.co.uk website)

However although I ordered them LAST Sunday night, they still have not arrived. The company does not have a contact number online and when you click their "contact us" tab at the bottom of the screen it takes you to a webform. I've submitted two webform messages since Wednesday, and I sent a direct email to the address found on the order conformation email they sent. It's getting a little irritating not knowing anything my order.

Has anybody else had any issues ordering from Tribeca Shoes? I had only read good things on the blogosphere so far so I'm a little bit disappointed in getting no response. :(

Really long time, no post!

Ok so it's literally been months since I last posted. I ended up getting crazy busy studying for exams, sitting exams, passing them, graduating and then attempting to decide a course for my future all while working crazy hours in the local supermarket! But things have calmed down a bit now and I've decided to get serious about my blog again.

Oh, want to know what else is new? We have a beautiful wee addition to our family...meet Shelldon.

She gets called Shellie though, because it's a bit more feminine. Isn't she just adorable? :) Only one downside, I keep having to get tall people in to the flat to keep rehanging my curtains - neither me or Mr K can reach!!

I've got plans for a couple of cute wee outfit posts soon (including my little motel rocks dress that I promised you back in March!).

Hope you are all well,

Speak soon (I mean it this time),

Wedding Plans

Hiya!
Just thought I'd post a blog to get everybody caught up to date on the plans for the biggest day of my life!! Since Mr K asked me to marry him in October I've been majorly excited and jumped straight into wedding plans - I've got so many wedding magazines I'm seriously beginning to consider building myself a castle out of them to be wed in. Mr K doesn't really agree to that idea though...

What he does agree with is this...
... Comlongan Castle. Its a beautiful 15th century castle set in the Scottish countryside. It's perfect for our fairytale day. Mr K wanted a winter wedding, so we've settled for a Saturday early next January. Incase you can't imagine what the castle would look like in the Winter here you go:

We don't mind if there's no snow, but apparently in Scotland the only time we're not guaranteed rain is during the winter months!! It's too cold for rain haha, I'm just hoping I'm too excited and running around far too much to feel the cold!

I've also been and chosen the perfect dress, but as much as I love fashion and sharing all my new buys with you all... that I'm afraid has to be kept hush hush! Sorry!!

I'll keep you updated as things go on and I'm a regular user of Pinterest - http://pinterest.com/bonnie14/wedding/ - so I hope to start creating mood boards and blogging bits and pieces I absolutely love.

Being engaged has unearthed a hidden obbsession for things like centrepieces and table runners that before now I never even thought about. I don't know whether to worry or just to embrace it.

More importantly, has anybody else got any ideas/thoughts/stuff to share with me about weddings and wedding planning. Or anything else for that matter, I'm always all ears!

Speak later,

Bee

P.S: I do not own the photographs of Comlongon Castle, and I took them from their website: - http://www.comlongon.com/output/home.asp

Go on take a look but just remember the website doesnt even begin to give the Castle justice to how magical it is!

Miss Selfridge Friday Night Top

Hiya,
Just having a wee check-in to show you my cute Friday night outfit. It was the first outing for the black Miss Selfridge Crop Top. I wore it on Friday night with a pair of Miss Selfridge high waisted jeans, a pair of bright pink shoe boots - just to give the outfit a bit of a pop. Because it's still only March and a wee bit chilly I threw on a blue cardi from New Look. It made the outfit a bit more modest as well.
There's a closer up image of the top... it's in stores now. And remember that Miss Selfridge do 10% off for students - yay!! :)
I think I'm going to be rocking crop tops all spring/summer... you're only young once! I've also got a cute LBD coming from Motel Rocks so as soon as I get it I'll show you the pics - unless it look totally awful!

Speak soon,

First Post!

Hiya!
After having started loads of blogs and never really having any direction or good ideas for them I've decided that I'm really going to focus my energies on a fashion and style blog.
Living in a small Scottish town my style is wearable but still (hopefully!!) quite cool and fashionable. I suppose it's time to find out.
I'll start with a review of my latest nail polish - Rimmel 60 seconds in Sky High. It took three coats to get a good strong colour on my nails however each coat dried very quickly (maybe not quite in 60 seconds, but near enough). The results were pretty much smudge free and two days later reletively chip free (with the exception of a slight incident involving a tattie pealer!).
Love it!!! :)

Speak Soon,

Bee
